Thai Yoga Massage
Traditional Thai massage is an ancient healing system that combines broad and targeted acupressure, stimulation and manipulation of energy lines called sen, and assisted yoga postures.
Treatment effects are enhanced when the patient is fully relaxed and breathing deeply. Traditional Thai massage rarely uses oils or lotions, and the recipient remains clothed during a treatment. There is constant body contact between the practitioner and client, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked in order to clear energy blockages and relieve tension. The practitioner uses thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, knees and feet to create a dance of movement on the body of the recipient. In this process, joints are opened, muscles and tendons are stretched, internal organs are toned, and energy is balanced. The overall effect is one of deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and physical and mental well being.
- Relieve tension headaches
- Reduce types of back pain (typically subacute and chronic nonspecific back pain)
- Relieve muscle pain and spasticity as well as joint stiffness and pain
- Increase flexibility and range of motion
- Stimulate circulation and lymphatic drainage
- Boost energy
- Calm the nervous system
Thai massage may not be safe for someone with health conditions such as disk herniation, osteoporosis, recent surgery, or cardiovascular disease.
Please consult with your health care provider prior to scheduling your appointment.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a massage done on feet, hands and ears that stimulates reflexes throughout the entire body.
This is a fantastic way to stimulate healing without needing access to the problem area. Foot Reflexology massage can be a deeply relaxing and therapeutic modality for those suffering from plantar fascistic, ankle injuries or even everyday work and play.
Whether you work in an office, a factory, a field, a hospital, or anything in between, there is a good chance that you put a lot of weight and stress on your feet every day. It is not always the back. Stress can manifest itself in the other parts of our body too.
Reflexology massage is combined with traditional Swedish and Sports massage techniques to the foot, calf and upper leg. It will help relieve toe pain, ankle pain and common forms of arthritis. In addition, a variety of stretches can be beneficial. With pain and sensitivity in the foot, heel and calf areas, be sure to communicate your pain levels with Olena during your treatment.
Some of the benefits of Reflexology include:
- Improved Nerve Function
As we age, our nerve endings become less sensitive in many parts of our body, particularly in our extremities. - Boosted Energy Levels
- Increased Circulation
- Relaxation
- Elimination of Toxins
- Nervous System Stimulation
- Reduction in Headaches

Prenatal Massage
Pregnancy is one of the most wonderful and challenging experiences a woman can go through.
All of the rapid changes over those 9 months calls for some TLC. Olena uses a variety of techniques to address all the aches and pains while keeping baby safe and restful.
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a very beneficial choice. Massage helps reduce stress and reduce normal discomfort that arises during pregnancy such as lower back pain, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and swelling.
In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
During the Prenatal Massage:
You will be comfortably placed in sideline position with supportive, soft cushions that are used to alleviate the extra strain on the lower back and pelvic areas when the pressure of massage techniques are applied.
Relief of Everyday Symptoms
Massage for pregnant women offers a number of benefits:
- Headaches can be relieved by massage focusing on the head, neck and shoulders. In addition, maintaining optimal levels of stress relief through massage reduces the chances of migraines or tension headaches by relaxing trigger points and muscle spasms.
- Muscle tension created by carrying the extra weight of a baby can be relieved by encouraging blood flow to the afflicted areas. This provides more nutrient-rich oxygen and also increases the flow of lymphatic fluid, which sweeps away toxins and metabolic waste.
- Fatigue, backaches, leg cramps and swelling/edema can all be relieved through various types of massage for pregnant women.
- The ordinary aches and pains of pregnancy are countered by the release of serotonin, your body’s natural anti-pain chemical, which is stimulated by massage.
While a massage can’t promise that your newborn will sleep through the night, it can provide you with a better night’s sleep both during pregnancy and afterwards. Regular massage therapy not only helps diminish anxiety and discomfort but boosts relaxation as well. This ultimately can lead to improved sleep patterns.
In addition, the serotonin, endorphins and dopamine released by your body in response to massage provide an extra helping of those natural chemicals. “Massage is very effective at increasing deep sleep,” says Touch Research Institute director Dr. Tiffany Field.

Injury Treatment
Massage Therapy Improves Rehabilitation After Injury
Rehabilitating any injury can be a tiring and frustrating process. While the main goal of physical rehabilitation is to increase strength and flexibility, it often ends before the area has been returned to its full pre-injury state.
Massage plays an important role as a supplement to standard injury rehabilitation procedures. By encouraging circulatory movement and relaxing muscles, massage helps the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs. This allows the rehabilitating injured area to become more flexible and heal at an accelerated rate.
Sports injury massage or any injury massage therapy can help reduce stiffness, restore movement, and provide relaxation that helps you focus on healthy healing instead of soreness and anxiety.
Sprained ankle or twisted knee, muscle spasms or broken bones, massage can provide the opportunity for faster recovery. By stretching tight tissues and breaking down adhesions, can help flush out swelling in joints, allowing for quicker healing.
If you’re recovering from a broken bone, you’ll want to eliminate stiffness and improve mobility in the problem area.
Therapeutic Massage
It’s a combination of Relaxation Massage and Remedial Massage to not only relax your whole body but at the same time, work through some of the muscle issues or “tight spots” you may be experiencing.
This massage is beneficial for athletes, labourers or stressed out office workers, by receiving regular therapeutic massage you will keep yourself in good physical condition.
In some cases, Therapeutic massage is recommended by a health professional and may be performed as part of a larger treatment plan. For example, someone attending physiotherapy for an injury might have regular therapeutic massage to loosen muscles, improve muscle tone, and increase their flexibility.

Deep tissue
The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia.
If deep tissue is what you’re after then this is the right session for you. With a combination of stretches for your individual needs as well as targeted massage techniques you’ll be back in the game in no time.
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is more beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension.
Deep tissue massage helps flush lactic acid and other metabolic waste from your muscles, allowing more oxygen-rich and nutrient-filled blood to flow in.
A study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that people’s blood pressure fell after a single 45 to 60 minute deep tissue massage. Additionally, a 2010 meta-analysis in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found that massage modalities like deep tissue reduce stress hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of Oxycontin and Serotonin.

Sports Massage & Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body.
A trigger point in the back, for example, may produce referral pain in the neck. The neck, now acting as a satellite trigger point, may then cause pain in the head. The pain may be sharp and intense or a dull ache.
Trigger point massage therapy is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. In this type of massage for trigger point therapy, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort.
The results and benefits are releasing constricted areas in the muscles thus alleviating pain. You can experience a significant decrease in pain after just one treatment. Receiving massage with trigger point therapy on a regular basis can help naturally manage pain and stress from chronic injuries.
Sports massage therapy is for athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers.
The particulars of the sports massage technique are specific to the athlete’s sport of choice. Focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.
Aspects of sports massage therapy are gaining popularity as useful components in a balanced training regimen. Sports massage therapy can be used as a means to enhance pre-event preparation and reduce recovery time for maximum performance during training or after an event. Athletes have discovered that specially designed sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares their body and mind for optimal performance.
One of the key benefits of Sports massage therapy compared to other modalities is its ability to target muscle-tendon junctions. A 2010 study in the journal of Strength and Conditioning Research found that even a 30-second massage improved hip-flexor range of motion. Another study conducted by Margaret Jones, Ph.D. of the American College of Sports Medicine, demonstrated a notable trend toward decreased muscle soreness in the athletes who received massage either before or after exercise.
For anyone participating in regular physical activity, Sports massage therapy every week or two may be a great addition to your normal regimen.

Swedish Massage
Traditional Swedish massage uses long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart to increase circulation and melt your stress away.
Additional Swedish massage techniques include circular pressure applied by the hands and palms, firm kneading, percussion-like tapping, bending and stretching.
One of the primary goals of the Swedish massage is to relax the entire body but it goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
A study conducted by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, and published in The New York Times, found that volunteers who received a 45-minute Swedish massage experienced significant decreases in levels of the stress hormone cortisol, as well as arginine vasopressin-a hormone that can lead to increases in cortisol. Volunteers also had increases in the number of lymphocytes, white blood cells that are part of the immune system, and a boost in the immune cells that may help fight colds and the flu.
Before and during your Swedish massage session, communication is encouraged with your professional massage therapist so that your massage is customized to your specific needs.
